FNAC for lymph nodes that are enlarged lymph nodes, thyroid swellings, breast lumps as well as other lumps or swellings in the soft tissues of the body is performed by highly trained cytopathologists. Female patients are able to have this procedure carried out by female specialists. FNAC is performed under aseptic conditions in a fully-equipped procedure room. The test is then checked for accuracy to prevent repeated sessions. Final report is based using a standard protocol within 72-48 hours.
In addition to regular FNAC an ultrasound-guided FNA will also be available at Wania Hospital.

Special tests : Tests specifically designed to detect fungal infections and the confirmation of tuberculosis can be found at Wania Hospital. Special arrangements are also made for the tumorous and lymphoproliferative conditions requiring immuno-histochemistry/molecular testing for their categorization and phenotyping.
Immunohistochemisty:
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is the single most significant component of the Histopathology department. It is the process of specific identification of antigens in tissues by utilizing the concept of antibodies binding specifically to antigens present in the tissues . More than 60 IHC antibodies are accessible using the most advanced automated analyzer.
